A circuitous cycling route of 103 km involving some off roading around the Andhra Lake in Pune District. Not much information about the route is available as this is a comparitively untrodden route for cyclists.... AND THATS THE FUN OF IT  We would also encounter a multitude of challenges, making this is a memorable trip for all those who are young at heart.   Day 01:  Kamshet to Khandi or little Beyond .... 45 to 50 kms We reach Kamshet as early as possibe and start our cycling from Kamshet. We start cycling towards vadgaon and get off the Road at Kanhe. We cross the little hamlets of Mau, Nagathali and reach Vadeshwar. At this point we first touch the Andhra Dam waters and start circuiting the lake from the left. Further riding for 21 kms we reach village Khandi. We will then look out for a good camping site near the village for our night stay. Pitching your own tents and cooking your food at the camp site adds to the fun Overnight at the camp site that we set up. (B, L, D…)   Day 02: Khandi to Kamshet 54 kms We have an early breakfast and leave Khandi village and ride further keeping the lake to our right. After having lunch on the way we head back to Kamshet. In this cycling tour, we would start from Gateway Of India, Mumbai, and would go past sun-washed beaches of coastal Maharashtra, unassuming villages, and thickly green hillsides before finally landing in Goa. The trip is designed to take you through the vibrant coastal side trails, rich in enthralling landscapes, local interaction, cultural experiences, monuments and temples and a distinct array of food. Here we would give away our baggage to our pick up vehicle. After a very refreshing 1 ½ hours sail on the misty Arabian Sea we would reach Mandawa Jetty, from where we would hit the paddle. After about 28 Kms cycling we would reach the capital town of Raigad district, Alibag. We would have our lunch and move towards Kashid, which is around 24 Kms. via Revdanda. On the way we would visit the famous Korlai Lighthouse, which would make very interesting halt. Zanskar is like no place in India - it remains cut off from almost beginning of November till around June beginning [around 7-8 months in a year]; as of now it gets vehicular access only when the Pensi La opens up thus making the road journey from Padum and nearby places to Kargil possible and beyond then to Leh or Srinagar. As such this region having an altitude of around 12,000 to 13,000 feet and covering an areas of 7000 sq km remain totally cut off. Zanskar river which takes it form onwards Padum after merging with its different tributaries flows in a north-easterly direction through the dramatic Zanskar gorge and merging with Indus river; the confluence being at Nimmu, just on the outskirts of Leh on the Leh-Kargil road.   Chadar trek is one of the most thrilling and adventurous trek in India in the local language "chadar" means blanket. Nestling snugly in the lap of the snow capped peaks of Panchachuli, the Darma valley in Pithoragarh district is endowed with abundant scenic grandeur. 134kms from Pithoragarh and 35kms from Dharchula is the last bus terminal Sobla. From Sonla to Panchaculi Glacier is a 40kms trek. The route to the glacier abounds in exotic scenery, anowcapped mountains,, gushing streams, alpine meadows and a rich variety of flora and fauna. And from the glacier one can see the Panchachuli peaks in their towering Glory. Ensconced by the river Dhauli Ganga, Sobla is the entry point of the Darma valley.   In Sobla the trekkers put on their rucksacks and get ready for the vigorous journey ahead. Here onwards it's a 35-40kms trek that passes through Dar, Bungling, Sela, Nagling, Baaling and Duktu/ Dantu village in the Darma Valley before reaching the Panchaculi glacier. On the final lap of the village Duktu/ Dantu one gets the majestic spectacle of Panchachuli that derives its name from the five peaks, named after the legendry Pandavas. The 5kms length and width of glacier projects out from this range of hill. A trek of about 4kms from village Duktu/ Dantu leads to the base of this glacier. The glacier is seen from Duktu/ Dantu villages as well as from the starting point of the Yuli River situated 4kms at the base of Panchachuli. The five peaks of Panchachuli creates the unforgettable specter of Himkhand.
