A #pinncale of Moradi stands tall to the east of this fort. Dear Friends we invite you all for Trek to Harischandragad and camping at konkankada on 31 oct and 1 nov 2015     Ascend  and Descend via Pachnai.   Harischandragad is one of the most visited forts in Western Ghats. If you are trekking in Sahyadri for several years and you haven't visited  Harishchandragad then you haven't trekked enough. This enormous fort has 7 routes and during this trek we will be doing most simple route ie Pachnai Route.  Its the easiest way to explore Harishchandragad without facing much exhaustion. Pachnai route might be the simplest route but its very scenic.  Since it does not take out your breath, you are more appreciative to your surroundings.     Taramati: This is the topmost point on the fort. It is the second highest peak in Maharashtra after kalsubai. Leopards are seen in the forests beyond  this peak. From here we can have a glimpse of the whole range of Naneghat and the forts near Murbad.   Konkan Kada: The most interesting point on this fort is this cliff, which has always fascinated many people from many years. The cliff faces west and  looks down upon the Konkan with a breathtaking view of the surrounding region and sunset. This cliff is not just vertical; it is an overhang, almost  like a cobra's hood.   Kedareshwar: The cave of Kedareshwar has a big Shivlinga, which is totally surrounded by water.   Some Information about the Fort:   Height of Fort – Harischandragad -1424m (4671ft) Base Village- Pachnai. Dear Friends we invite you all for Night Trek to Prabalgad Fort on 31st oct 2015 leaving 31st night   Prabalgad Fort is located between Matheran and Panvel in the Indian state of Maharashtra, at an elevation of 2300 feet in the Western Ghats.  It was built on a plateau very close to Matheran, but unlike Matheran it does not have a good source of water. It was known as Muranjan until  it was taken over and renamed by the Maratha forces under Shivaji's rule. The fort contains a temple to Ganesh and some stone ruins.  Its sister  fort is Irshalgad. The Ulahas River runs to the east of the fort. The Gadhi River, and the Chanderi and Peb forts are to the west. Peb Fort is situated on northeast side of Panvel on  Mumbai-Pune road at a distance of 3-4 km on west side of Neral. This is the most beautiful one-day trek. The fort is also named as 'VikatGad'.  We can clearly see the ridge connecting mountains of Matheran and Peb. When we stand here we feel that we are on the top of the world.
