Prabalmachi is a quaint little village hidden in the hills of old Mumbai-Pune highway.This village is the base village to trek up the Prabalgad/ Kalavantin forts. Get set Goooo !!   About the Tour : Ride to Kondhana caves with Mumbai Travellers, its overall 25 kms Ride from Karjat to Kondhana caves road through Green carpet till Kondiwade village and will park our cycles there at kondiwade . Kondiwade is small village at base of Rajmachi fort. From there its 45 Mins trek towards Rajmachi. En-route there is the beautiful Kondhana caves which is our final destination. The Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj made the fort his capital in 1674 when he was crowned King of a Maratha Kingdom which later developed into the Maratha Empire eventually covering majority of modern day India. The fort, which rises 820 metres (2,700 ft) above sea level, is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. One Can see it from express highway a V-Shaped one. The Left one is Kalwantin Durg & right side is Prabalgad. One reason for people taking interest in the Taj Mahal is romanticism associated with the monument but Kalavantin Durg is another fort in India that is supposed to have been built for a queen. It is 2,330 ft high but no one knows much about its history.
