Chitkul, on the banks of Baspa River is the last village on the old Hindustan-Tibet trade route. It is also the last point in India one can travel to without a permit. Dear Friends, We invite you for Treks in Himalayas - Roopkund trek on 08th May 2016 - 15th May 2016 Region:-Garhwal, Uttarakhand, Duration:- 8 Days Grade:- moderate Altitude:-15696 ft. Approx trekking:- 53km. Roopkund is situated at an elevation of 5,029 mts above sea level in the base of Trishul peak and Nanda Ghunti. Roopkund is also known as 'Mystery Lake' since human skeletons and remains of horses from the Paleolithic age was found here. The lake is nestled amidst panoramic mountain scenery, surrounded by rock-strewn glacier. Roopkund remains frozen for almost all the time of the year. The skeletal remains around Roopkund are believed to be 500-600 years old.  While traveling to Roopkund you get a chance to trek through villages rich in pahari culture. Visit high alpine meadows offering enchanting greenery and the sacred Bedni Kund holding crystal clear water. The trek goes steep to Roopkund from Bedni Bugyal. Bhaguwabasa is situated at an elevation of 4,100 mts above sea level, situated 5 kms short of Roopkund. The weather is unpredictable at such high altitudes so do carry raincoats.  Roopkund Legend- The great 'Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra' is held in every 12 years from Nauti village near Karnaprayag to Homkund near Roopkund. This yatra is dedicated to Goddess Nanda. A large number of people from Garhwal and Kumaon take part in this tough holy yatra.  Many stories were also made about the mysterious human skeletons of Roopkund. According to research it was indicated that the people were from the 12th century to the 15th century who died of hailstorm. But it is still a mystery that what were those people doing there. Sandhan valley is located on the west side of beautiful Bhandardara region, near Samrad village. Valley surrounded with mighty Alang अलंग, Madan मदन & Kulang कुलंग (Known as AMK- toughest trek in Sahyadri) Ratangad रतनगड, Ajoba आजोबागड & Kalsubai कळसूबाई शिखर (5400 ft. highest peak in Maharashtra) mountain ranges. Brilliant & deep narrow rock floored ravine between the two high walls of mountain range. At some places its width is less than 3 ft so that at some places sun rays unable to reach. Dear Friends,We invite you for Treks in Himalayas winter Trek to Kuari Pass on 17th January 2016 - 22nd January 2016.Region:-Garhwal, Uttarakhand,Duration:- 6 DaysGrade:- easyAltitude:-3700 m.Approx trekking:- 25 km.The trek over the Kuari Pass was the route followed by Shipton and Tilman on their way to the Rishi Gorge and by other mountaineers en route to the peaks on the Indo-Tibetan border. It is also called the Curzon Trail, as the famous former Viceroy of India also travelled this route. The trail was named after Lord Curzon who was a keen trekker and it is said that the path was specially improved so that he could do the trek.
