History – In 1739, after wining Vasai Fort from Portuguese forces Maratha warrior Chimaji Appa had build this temple. Vajreshwari is at the foot of Mandakini Mountain, which was formed out of a volcanic eruption. It’s this proximity that accounted for the many hot springs in this region. A beautiful Tansa River flows very near to the temple.

Around Vajreshwari – Akloli Kund – this place is famous for Seven hot springs, about 1 KM away from Famous temple.
Ganesh Puri – about 2 KM away, famous for Nityanand Mandir. The temple is marble and granite structure with highly peaceful ambience around it. Also there is Shri Gurudev Ashram started by sage Nityanand.
