Event: Jungle Trek in Borivali National Park (BNP) or Sanjay Gandhi National Park
Date: June 22, 2008
Schedule:
6:30 am – Meeting inside main gate of Borivali National Park after crossing jungle toll ticket counter near BNP map.
7:00 am – Induction and Introduction
7:30 am – Trek begins
6:00 pm – The event ends at Borivali National Park main gate.
Contribution per head
Rs. 350 for non members and Rs.250 for members (Members getting their own vehicles will get Rs.120 Discount)
Total Capacity (25 members)
The camp fee includes transport if required from BNP main gate till Kanheri Caves
Breakfast
Every member is expected to carry their own Lunch and in-between snacks.
Also carry 3 liters water per head.
Other things to carry
Cap, rain wear (Windcheater or Poncho)
Small pocket knife; lunch tiffin
Personal first aid; (Sunscreen; anti-mosquito repellent cream etc)
1 plastic sheet 2 m x 2 m
1 torch
Nice to have:
Binoculars
Camera
Small Note book with ball pen
Field guide or birds/plants/insects etc
Most important be there on time

Getting there
Either drive upto BNP or take Suburban trains and get down at Borivili station (East), the nearest railway station from where the park entrance is around 1km. away.
Sanjay Gandhi Nationa Park or more popularly know as Borivali National Park (BNP) as we call it, lies in North Mumbai, with its main entrance at Borivali being just off the Western Express Highway.
We the citizens of Mumbai (Earlier called as Bombay) are privileged to be part of the only metro in the world that has that has a National Park that is within its municipal limits.
The mean elevation of the park is around 30 Mts above mean sea level, the highest point of Mumbai that is behind Kanheri Caves region stants at 468 Mts
