Bhramanti trek to MrigaGad 19th Oct 08 Sunday

Dear Friends

Just a couple of weeks ahead of Diwali, we are glad to announce this
small trek to a less known fort called Mriga-Gad during this weekend
ie. 19th Oct. Sunday.

Before we go into the details of this trek, we also take this
opportunity to briefly update you on various events & achievements:

1) We congratulate our Managing Trustee Rajan Rikame on successfully
completing his full Chicago marathon on 12th Oct 08. His stats. are
as follows:
Finished the marathon 26.2 miles (42KM) in his record time of 3 hrs
49Min. (His last year's record stood at 5 hrs 23 min)
Total registered Participants 45000
Overall rank: 4475
Probably 3rd amongst Indians (as per the marathon website)

2) We also congratulate our member Tanuja Sarode on successfully
completing the Hyderabad half marathon this Aug 16th. She stood 7th
amongst female participants completing the run in 2hrs, 34mins.

3) On the event of Wildlife Week (1st week of Oct), our core member
Kaivalya Verma delivered an awareness program on Snakes which was
conducted by the Godrej Mangroves department at the Vikhroli
establishment. The focus was more on spreading awareness, myths &
conservation of this wild life species.

4) We also take this opportunity to congratulate all our leaders &
participants of the monsoon treks this season. We did 5 treks out of
the 6 planned treks.

We wish all the best for all there future endeavours.


MRIGA-GAD Trek Details:

Fort: Mrigagad (also known as Bheliv cha Killa)
Region: Pali region, off Khopoli

Date of departure: Sunday, early morning from Mumbai.
Place of meeting: shall be communicated to confirmed participants
later.

Travelling: Shall be confirmed based on no. of participants.

Trek grade: easy
Trek duration: 4-5 hours

Leader: Kiran Sarode

Please seek confirmation by Friday noon.

Approx. Trek expense: Rs 350(non members), Rs 300(members)

Essential Stuff to be carried by everybody: Cap, fruits, water, glucon
powder if reqd, days lunch (non perishable), lemons, other stuff like
chewda/biscuit/cake
etc. which are non perishable
Wear light clothing to keep cool.
Carry 2-3 ltrs of water.
NOTE: ALL OF ABOVE THINGS ARE ESSENTIAL.
