Siddhagad-Gorakhgad with URJA - 8-9 Nov 08 with URJA - 8-9 Nov 08

Hi,

We have arranged trek to Siddhagad-Gorakhgad forts near Murbad on 8-9 nov 2008.
Meeting point - Kalyan ST Stand near enquiry counter - 8 Nov 08 - 6.30 am.

Siddhagad fort was used as a hideout by freedom fighters Bhai Kotwal and Hiraji Patil. It also hosts one of the few self-dependent villages Siddhagadwadi on its machi.
Gorakhgad is famous for being location of meditation for Gorakhnath.

On Saturday, we take bus to Murbad and local transport to Narivali, base village of Siddhagad.
We climb Siddhagad and stay at Siddhagad wadi on Siddhagad machi and visit Shahid smarak of Bhai Kotwal and Hiraji Patil.
On Sunday, we descend early from Siddhagad and visit Gorakhgad.
We will be back in Kalyan about 8.30 pm on Sunday.

Trek cost :- 350/- (Includes Kalyan to Kalyan travel, sat dinner, Sunday breakfast-tea-lunch)

Things to carry :-

1. Good sack to keep all your belongings
2. Lunch for Saturday.
3. Water bottle (Min 2 ltrs).
4. Additional pair of clothes.
5. Plate, spoon, glass (compulsory)
6. Sleeping bag or sleeping mat.
7. Torch (compulsory)
8. Matchbox, candles, Old Newspapers
9. Pen knife
10. Windchitter, Umbrella (for camera)

Do not carry excessive cash/gold ornaments for the trek.
Every individual will be responsible for his/her belongings.
Smoking and drinking strictly prohibited.

Note :- Siddhagad and Gorakhgad have tricky rock patches. Be prepared for the same.
