Shikhar Vedh Trek 2 Bhimashankar via Ladder on 02/08/09

After successful treks in last months to keep momentum going ... शिखर वेध have planned yet another one day night trek to Bhimashankar via Laddar Route - A Thrilling trek coming sunday i.e. on 2nd August 2009 ...

Brief Introduction about Bhimashankar:
Height: 3296 feet
Grade: Thrilling
Time: ~ Maximum 4 hrs from Khandas, Base Village
Location: Nagar District
There is a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Lord Shankara after getting angry killed Rakshas Tripurasura. The heat generated from their war caused the origin of river Bhima. That is why it is called Bhimashankar. A rare animal "Shekru" can be found in deep wood. Other details @ Bhimashankar temple

Catch the last local train for Karjat after Saturday midnight. Timings r as follows

08:45 Hrs: Trek resume
10:00 Hrs: @ Bhimashankar
10:45 Hrs: @ Nagfani Point
12:15 Hrs: @ Bhimashankar Temple
13:00 Hrs: Lunch Time
14:30 Hrs: Descend Start via laddar route only
16:00 Hrs: @Ladder Descend
17:30 Hrs: Ladder Descend Complete
19:00 Hrs: @ Khandas
20:00 Hrs: @ Karjat

We will be in Mumbai around 22:30 hrs (that's - subjective)
The Estimated initial expenditure is abt Rs. 220 / -
This includes Karjat 2 Karjat rick fare, Morning Breakfast + Tea + Lunch
Since its a one day trek ... seats r limited ...
Things To Carry:-
A Water Bottle (~2.5 Ltrs)
Rain cheater (Optional) for those who don't want to wet ... but pls do carry one ... very much pouring @ Bhimashankar
Camera, Cell Phone, Binoculars (Optional)
Pls avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
1 torch (a must) with spare battereies
Some ready to eat food.
Plum cakes, biscuits etc.
Extra Pair of clothes,
Knife, Spoon, plate
Good trekking shoes,
Personal basic medical kit (Containing an antiseptic, few bandages, personal medications if any, Antibiotics for stomach infection)
A haversack to put all these things
