we at Trek Mates, have arranged a trek to Naneghat on 12th July 2009, starting on 11th Night.

Little info about Naneghat
Type: Ghat
Height: 2500 Feet above MSL (Approx)
Grade: Easy- medium
Base Village: Vaishakhare

The cost for the trek is Rs 400/- per head which includes
Travelling from Dadar to Dadar by private vehicle,
Breakfast and evening refreshments.

Things To Be carried:

Identity proof (must)
Lunch For Sunday,
A bottle of water (atleast 2 Ltrs),
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
2-3 bunch of papers
Towel, a napkin, Extra Pair of clothes
TORCH with extra batteries (compulsory).
Cap, etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
A good trekking shoes, extra pair of socks
A haversack to put in all the things to be that one has ones hands free while trekking.
Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.

Its Raining heavy these days, so pack yr bags accordingly to save them from getting wet. Double pack your valuables in plastic bags.

Naneghat (Marathi: नाणेघाट) is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range near Junnar in Pune district of Maharashtra, India. During the reign of the Satavahana (200 BCE–190 CE), the pass was extensively used as a trade route between Kalyan and Junnar

Literally, the name nane means "coin" and ghat means "pass". The name is given because this path was used as a tollbooth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills.

The itinerary for the Trek is as given below:
Meeting point :
1)Swami Narayan Mandir, Dadar (e) at 11.00pm on Saturday 11 July.
2)Pick up point at Nitin Company, Thaneat 12.30 am

Travel by private vehicle till the base Village, Vaishakhare
Rest till dusk in the bus itself.
Early morning have breakfast and then Start our trek by 6.30 am.
Reach the top in 4 hrs.
Explore the surroundings and start descending by 2pm.
Reach the base till 5 pm.
Start our return journey after evening refreshments.

We will be reaching Mumbai by 9.30 pm on Sunday 12th July..
